Christian Student Housing on the UBC Campus
Carey provides faith-based student housing on the UBC campus for undergraduate and graduate learners seeking Christian community, spiritual growth, and a supportive place to live. Our residence blends intentional community, academic support, and on-campus convenience to create a safe, welcoming home for students who want to grow in both their education and their faith.

Currently, we offer fully furnished residence options designed to support students in a vibrant Christian community.

Timothy Hall
provides year-round housing (May to April) in studio and shared or family apartments with one to three bedrooms, each featuring private bathrooms, full kitchens, and access to shared laundry facilities. Residents enjoy community retreats, monthly gatherings, games nights, and festive banquets—fostering connection, growth, and a deep sense of belonging.

What is included?

Internet and utilities are included in residence fees.  Limited parking is available for Student Residents at $150 per semester for indoor parking, subject to availability.

When do I pay?

The refundable security deposit and non-refundable acceptance fee per unit is due 10 days after you receive your acceptance. Once you have been accepted, monthly payments are due at the 1st of each month.

$50 late fee applies for all late payments.

*Note that all square footage are approximate and final fees and requirements are outlined in the final contract at the time of offer.

How do I apply?

Applications open early December and close February 7th of each year for the first round of offers in early February. Any applications received after will be placed on a waitlist.

If you are a Primary Student Resident and would like to sublet a unit at Timothy Hall, please fill out our Sublet Application Form.

Residence Move-In FAQ

Can I arrive anytime in my time slot?
Yes. For example, if your time slot is 9-11 AM, you can arrive anytime between your time slot to move-in.

Can I change my move-in time slot?
If you would like to change your move-in time slot, please email us at info@carey-edu.ca with the subject line: Move-In Timeslot Change Request. Be sure to send your request at least 48 hours before your scheduled move-in time. Please note that changes are subject to availability, so we kindly ask that you select only from available time slots.

Where do I go when I arrive?
Please head towards the front desk counter at Timothy Hall to register for your arrival.

Can you store my items before my move-in date?
Unfortunately we are not offering this service.

Will there be parking available?
We have reserved a limited number of one-hour move-in parking spots at our Carey Hall building, located directly next to Timothy Hall. These complimentary spots are available for families and students moving into residence. Parking is limited to one hour and is only permitted during your registered time slot. Upon arrival, please register your vehicle with the front desk staff at Timothy Hall.

Why are there only a limited amount of early move-in slots?
Due to ongoing construction and furniture delays, we can only accommodate a limited number of students for early move-in.

Will my unit be fully furnished?
All units are furnished with a fully-equipped kitchen, closet, desk, bed with mattress. Larger units include dining table and chairs. Please note that bedding is not provided.

I am only coming in to store my items. How will my move-in process be different?
Your room may not be fully furnished. If your room is not fully furnsihed, movers will be entering your room to set up the furniture while you are away so we kindly ask that you leave enough space for them to do so. We will not be responsible for any liabilities or damages.

Are there elevators in the building?
Yes, Timothy Hall has 1 elevator.

Timothy Hall is our brand-new, seven-floor student residence building opening in Spring 2025, featuring a variety of studio, two, and three-bedroom suites. Scheduled for completion in Spring 2025, this residence will provide UBC students with year-round housing from May to April.
