At little expense to the College, we present to our incoming students a not very generous welcome to the life and pleasures of Carey Theological College. To keep our costs low, we are permitting a Georgia Tech engineering student to speak to you. (Please note: he does not know he is doing us this favor and don’t let him know. We could get into copyright problems — please see the Carey student guidebook on plagiarism.)
Your participation in this incoming student welcome (again, as a cost saving measure) is that whenever you hear this student shout about “Georgia Tech” you are to substitute “Carey Theological College.” And when he mentions “engineering,” you must shout “theology.” Or “pastoral care” if you like.
And forget the little yellow beanies. We don’t do that kind of stuff up here in Canada. But you may give a little “Canucks wave” but do so without enthusiasm as we are just apologetic Canadians. Sorry.
Also, consider the profanities as an opportunity to pray for those who don’t yet “know.”
So, in pursuit of being a better buy than Costco, please see our 2013 Welcome to New Students at Carey Theological College:
