Truth and Reconciliation, Vancouver (Axel Schoeber)

I attended a service yesterday (2013-09-16) to inaugurate the week of Truth and Reconciliation here in Vancouver, an effort to bring healing between aboriginals and other Canadians. The service was at West Point Grey Presbyterian Church and focussed on the residential schools that brought pain to many in the name of Jesus. I plan to participate in next weekend’s major walk in downtown Vancouver in order to offer, in Jesus’ name, an open hand for reconciliation. Pray for this coming week.

Also, a note from Paddy, you might wish to read  An interview with Tsleil-Waututh elder Amy George at beginning of Truth and Reconciliation Week.

I teach Supervised Ministry and Baptist Identity, and I shepherd the Graduate Internship Program for pastors new to the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada. I follow current affairs and, as an old soccer coach, I love a good game, particularly if it involves the Vancouver Whitecaps or the German national men’s team!
