Living in residence is an important part of a student’s education. The experience of growing and studying within a community is an invaluable tool that can be used repeatedly throughout one’s life, whether that’s at church or work, abroad or at home. That’s why, at Carey, we encourage students to commit not only to personal development, but also to group involvement by joining others in residence.
Student residence at Carey Centre is comprised of single occupancy rooms furnished with a desk, chair, dresser and either a single- or queen-sized bed. All units have an en-suite bathroom with a tub or shower. Amenities include high-speed internet, local phone and a full meal service, which consists of three meals everyday of the week. Parking is additional. Wheelchair accessible dorm rooms are also available.
Our residence program is quite popular, and often has a waiting list. Residence at Carey Centre is reserved for undergraduate and graduate students studying at either the University of British Columbia or another local college. Apartments are also available for faculty and staff. Since Carey is a part of the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada, students from CBWC churches have priority in the application process.
