On Sunday afternoon, May 29, 2011, Carey conferred certificates, diplomas and degrees on 28 candidates in Vancouver (5 graudated in absentia). The celebration of completion focused on the spiritual growth and preparation for Kingdom service as each graduate's accomplishments. The afternoon was a happy occasion for the graduates, their families and friends, and for the Carey faculty and staff. The Student Speaker for 2011 was Dr. Gordon King of Toronto, ON.  Gordon King is the Director of the Sharing Way, the relief and development arm of Canadian Baptist Ministries.  He graduated with his Doctor of Ministry, the title of his thesis is: Reading Parables of Jesus with Christian Comunity Development Workers.  Click here to hear his address to the students.

The Guest Speaker at the Vancouver ceremony was Dr. Cam Yates, recipient of Carey's Doctor of Divinity, Honoris Causa.  The title of his address was:  "Spiritual Formation and the Way of Jesus".
