This course provides a firm foundation for understanding the writings of the Major and Minor Prophets of the Old Testament tracing the rise of prophecy and the role of prophets through the period of Moses to the 2nd century BC. The course will set these writings within their historical context and their literary context in order to elucidate their unique message. The goal of the course is to instill a prophetic spirit within the student as they read these texts in order to interpret their world and confront their cultural setting and prevalent justice issues.
This is an online course which runs from September 8th to November 28th, 2014. The instructor is Dr. Craig Smith.

The Graduate Studies Orientation introduces the learning objectives of the degree program and prepares students to re-enter the academic world while remaining involved in practical ministry. It provides a foundation for the process of discernment of ministry gifts and skills, and the deepening of Christian character, which are integral to readiness for ministry. Various assessment tools are a part of this process.
Graduate Studies Orientation is open to all students entering graduate studies including the MASF and Diploma programs. All Master of Divinity Students are required to attend the Graduate Studies Orientation as soon as possible after admission.
