In the last 25 years, the Western church has been fraught with many problems; declining attendance, declining influence in society, fractured stance on many issues. The crucial need for the church in the future will be strong leadership from people who are shaped deeply by the Word and love of Christ. This course is designed to catch the passion Paul had for serving the church as regular people following an extraordinary God. Join us for the day as we look at leadership through the lens of Paul’s writings with the view of discovering what a servant leader is, and what characteristics, skills and disposition are needed to be a leader and disciple of Christ.
I teach Biblical Studies at Carey. My faith in Christ is core to who I am and foundational for everything I do. This constitutes my starting point and the position that I want my students to embrace. As a teacher for over twenty years on three different continents, I have had the opportunity to develop a personal and global approach to learning. I believe that theological education should be holistic, engaging students intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, relationally and professionally. I love playing hockey. I coach soccer. I enjoy playing the piano, hiking, skiing and snowshoeing with my kids and my wife who is a pastor with the CBWC.
